The Building Construction Process Explained

If you want to learn about the construction process and the steps that are taken to complete a project, you should read my blog. My name is Darren White and I've always been fascinated by the way that a construction crew can erect a building so fast. I work in an industrial park and there's always new buildings being built and I see the progress every day. A few months ago, I was at a neighborhood picnic and I started talking to a neighbor that lived down the street. It just so happened that he was a contractor that worked on the buildings in the industrial park. I asked him how the construction crew could build a huge building so quickly and he explained the whole process to me. That's when I had the idea to write a blog to explain the building process to others who are also interested.

Four Options For Shower Doors When You Remodel Your Bathroom

by Edwin Johnston

If you are planning to remodel your bathroom, there are many things to consider: flooring, sink fixtures, and tiling to name a few. But one thing you need to spend some time thinking about is your shower, especially your shower doors. The following are a few choices you have for your showers.

You can add a shower to your tub

You may currently have a tub in the bathroom, but there is no shower. This is often seen with larger tubs, such as roman tubs. If this is the case, you have two options. Depending upon the configuration of your tub, you may be able to simply add a shower and keep your tub. However, you may want to add a shower and replace your larger tub with one that is a standard size. This will free up space in your bathroom.

You can add shower doors to your bathtub

If you have a standard size tub and are currently using shower curtains, adding a sliding shower door can add convenience to your bathroom. Sliding shower doors are common today, but many tub and shower combinations do not have them. For this reason, you will be adding value to your home and creating a more modern look to your bathroom. Adding a sliding shower door is often the least expensive upgrade to your bath and shower.

You can convert to a shower stall

If you currently have a tub or a combination of a tub and shower, you can convert it to a shower only. With only a shower, you can install a single door that opens easily and allows a person to step into the shower. This can be helpful because a tub/shower combination means a person needs to step over the side of the tub to get inside. This can be a problem for many people. A shower stall will mean a small step into the shower.

You can add a walk-in shower door

These have become very popular today and will add value to your home. These shower doors appear seamless from your bathroom floor and the shower floor. They are easy to open and close, and they are an upgrade to a shower stall design. If you are remodeling, you should consider this option along with others, but this is not something you should install yourself. Although it is best to have a contractor do all of your bathtub and shower remodeling work, installing a walk-in shower door takes two people, and the door must be balanced perfectly after installation.

Look at what you have right now and decide what makes the most sense. On the one hand, you can focus on the aesthetics of your remodeling plans, but you should also look at the functional needs you and your family have. And naturally, different options will have different price tags.
