The Building Construction Process Explained

If you want to learn about the construction process and the steps that are taken to complete a project, you should read my blog. My name is Darren White and I've always been fascinated by the way that a construction crew can erect a building so fast. I work in an industrial park and there's always new buildings being built and I see the progress every day. A few months ago, I was at a neighborhood picnic and I started talking to a neighbor that lived down the street. It just so happened that he was a contractor that worked on the buildings in the industrial park. I asked him how the construction crew could build a huge building so quickly and he explained the whole process to me. That's when I had the idea to write a blog to explain the building process to others who are also interested.

3 Ways To Use Spray Foam Insulation To Prevent Household Pests

by Edwin Johnston

No matter how hard you might try to keep your home nice and clean, preventing various household pests from getting into your home can be an ongoing challenging effort. Working with a good pest control team can be helpful, but there are things that you can use yourself to fight against obnoxious pests. One great thing to keep on hand and use to fight against bugs, rodents and other household pests is spray foam insulation. These are some of the ways that this exciting product can help in your quest for a pest-free home.

1. Fill in Leaks Under Your Sinks

If you have leaks under your sinks, such as if your sink basins leak or if there are leaks around your pipes, then you should know that all of this added moisture can be very appealing for cockroaches, water bugs and other pests. You can use spray foam insulation to fill in these leaks to get rid of this moisture, which will make the area much less appealing for thirsty insects that are looking for a water source.

2. Prevent Nests in Your Attic

Birds and squirrels often like to create nests in attics if they can. Luckily, spray foam insulation can help you put an end to that. If you spray ample amounts of spray foam insulation into your attic, you can make it so that there is no available space for nests. Plus, adding this insulation underneath your roof can also help prevent ice dams during the winter months and can make it simpler and more affordable for you to heat and cool your home.

3. Seal Off Wasp's Nests

Wasps love building their nest on the corners of porches and homes, and seeing one of these nests on your property can be terrifying, specifically if you have gone through the pain of being stung by a wasp in the past. If you spot one of these nests, you can spray some of your spray foam insulation into the opening. This will prevent the wasps from escaping and stinging you so that you can safely remove the nest from your property.

Dealing with household pests can be a major pain, and you probably want to have as many methods in your arsenal as possible to get rid of them. Luckily, if you invest in spray foam insulation, you can use it to prevent household pests in these ways and more.
