If you want to learn about the construction process and the steps that are taken to complete a project, you should read my blog. My name is Darren White and I've always been fascinated by the way that a construction crew can erect a building so fast. I work in an industrial park and there's always new buildings being built and I see the progress every day. A few months ago, I was at a neighborhood picnic and I started talking to a neighbor that lived down the street. It just so happened that he was a contractor that worked on the buildings in the industrial park. I asked him how the construction crew could build a huge building so quickly and he explained the whole process to me. That's when I had the idea to write a blog to explain the building process to others who are also interested.

If you've made the decision to install a glass shower enclosure in your bathroom space, you've made an excellent choice. Glass enclosures are highly functional and easy to maintain. However, these qualities can only be achieved when you are designing your new install appropriately. If you're in the middle of a bathroom construction project, here are some tips to help you design your enclosure.
Ensure Proper Support
The first thing you want to consider is support. Glass shower enclosures need a secure support surface to hinge on to. One of the things that make these enclosures so durable is the weight of the glass. However, this is also one of things that makes proper support so imperative.
Securing heavy glass to an unstable surface will cause a safety hazard. Ideally, you want to attach the enclosure to an area of the wall that has adequate studding behind it. This is not a consideration that can be overlooked.
Consider Seat Design
If you're installing a shower seat, design the seat away from the enclosure. When a seat rests against the enclosure surface, this puts more work on you in terms of keeping the glass clean. Environmental elements and the body's natural oils make your skin and hair dirty.
If you're like most people, when you sit down on the shower seat, you will likely let your body and head rest against the surface behind you. When you do this, all the dirt on your body and hair gets transferred to the glass, causing it to get dirty quicker.
Don't Forget Door Width
Bathroom spaces should be highly functional. When designing your bathroom space, make sure you aren't forgetting about the width of your enclosure door panel. When entering and exiting your shower, the last thing you want to do is to have to squeeze through the door.
To ensure adequate space, measure the width of your body and add extra inches on both sides. This measurement is a good place to begin when planning door width. The size of the shower should also be a consideration. In terms of aesthetic appeal, the larger the shower, the wider the door should be.
The more time you take to plan your glass enclosure, the more enjoyment and function you will get from your new bathroom feature. Make certain you're taking the time to plan your new bathroom space. Visit Affordable Custom Enclosures for more information.
