The Building Construction Process Explained

If you want to learn about the construction process and the steps that are taken to complete a project, you should read my blog. My name is Darren White and I've always been fascinated by the way that a construction crew can erect a building so fast. I work in an industrial park and there's always new buildings being built and I see the progress every day. A few months ago, I was at a neighborhood picnic and I started talking to a neighbor that lived down the street. It just so happened that he was a contractor that worked on the buildings in the industrial park. I asked him how the construction crew could build a huge building so quickly and he explained the whole process to me. That's when I had the idea to write a blog to explain the building process to others who are also interested.

3 Unexpected Phone Numbers To Keep In Your Emergency Contacts

by Edwin Johnston

When you think of emergency contacts, you probably think of the close friends and relatives you list on forms at the doctor's office and at work. Emergency contacts are also phone numbers that you should keep with you wherever you go for immediate access. Some of the numbers that are important to have available may surprise you, but keeping such numbers in your phone and in a card in your wallet is generally advised.

The National Poison Control Number

A standard number to provide for a babysitter, the national poison control phone number is important for adults to have on hand as well. People can be accidentally poisoned or exposed to toxins anywhere. If you or someone you are with experiences such exposure, it is very important to have the phone number on hand since poison-related emergencies are generally time-sensitive and often require the specialized advice and counsel of those trained in the field. Keep 1-800-222-1222 in your emergency contact list for your and others' safety.

An Emergency Plumbing Service

People, belongings, buildings, and animals can suffer immensely when water issues get out of control. Though very destructive and potentially dangerous, water problems like burst pipes aren't handled by 911. If your home begins to flood due to a plumbing issue, you need an emergency plumbing service to come to the rescue immediately.

Your regular plumbing company may offer emergency services, or you may need to find another plumbing company that does. Rather than scrambling to figure out who to call while water wreaks havoc, keep an emergency plumbing service number in your contact list.

Your Healthcare Provider

Another phone number that people often list just for babysitters, your healthcare provider's contact info should be with you at all times. When on a vacation or even just away from your home in the local area, it is important that you have immediate access to a medical professional that knows you if an emergency arises.

For example, if you fall unconscious for no obvious reason, the paramedics that come to help you may need to reach your doctor to learn about your medical history as they attempt to revive you. Even if you carry a medical alert about specific allergies or conditions that you have, those who help you may need to know more about your health in order to treat you effectively. Paramedics and doctors who need to know such information in an emergency are legally allowed to ask your healthcare provider, and it's much more efficient if you have your doctor's number on hand.
